Bob Anderson loves going places, experiencing new things, and spending time with people he enjoys. Moving to Springdale at Lucy Corr Village just made sense to him. After his wife of 20 years passed away, he wanted to sell his house and move to a lively place where he could “easily do everything.” After visiting other retirement communities, he made Springdale his home – and hasn’t looked back.
“This is such a close, friendly community. We all look after one another and have fun together.” he says. Bob also likes the fact that Springdale’s location is so convenient to his church and the activities he enjoys in the surrounding community. Since 1982, he’s been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 699, and is in the process of becoming a master mason with Lodge No.14 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
Never known to sit idle, Bob is now preparing to go back to school and finish his masters in engineering degree at nearby Strayer University. “It’s something I started years ago and now I want to be able to say that I’ve completed my master’s education.”
The former DuPont chemist enjoys traveling and visiting family when he’s got a free moment in his busy schedule. He’s even contemplating getting a motorcycle to further satisfy his sense of adventure and fun. “I like the fact that I can leave anytime knowing that my home will be taken care of while I’m away,” he adds
When it comes to choosing a place to retire, Bob says “I’d do it again. If I were looking for a place to land, Springdale is where I’d be.”
